Institutional Advancement Commission records
Records of the institutional Advancement Commission, an organization started in 1975 to determine the future direction of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The collection contains reports from the university's nine academic areas as well as background research on higher education and RIT's unique role. There is also some correspondence and a final report published by the commission.
Diploma and Certificate collection
Diplomas and certificates that were issued by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) or its predecessors. The collection includes course completion certificates, college diplomas, merit and service awards, and membership certificates. Many of these items are blank copies. There are also several diplomas from other institutions that were awarded to prominent members of the RIT community.
RIT 175th Anniversary Celebration collection
Materials related to RIT's 175th Anniversary Celebration, held in 2004. The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) can trace its origins to the founding of the Rochester Athenaeum in 1829. The collection contains schedules of events, ephemera such as programs and calendars, special publications, and news clippings. Also included are the records of the Anniversary Planning Committee.
Kern Program collection
Materials related to the Kern Program at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The endowed program was meant to "stimulate creativity in all areas of the communicative arts." The collection contains documents related to specific programs, as well as to individual Kern professors. Also included are 33 videotapes of various lectures sponsored by the program.
RIT Research Corporation records
Records of the RIT Research Corporation, a for-profit subsidiary of the Rochester Institute of Technology during the 1980s and 1990s. The RIT Research Corporation was responsible for applied research and consultation services at the university during this period. The collection includes governance documents, meeting minutes, reports, correspondence, promotional materials, publications, and clippings.
RIT Ad Hoc Study Group on Institute Information reports
Reports published by the Rochester Institute of Technology's (RIT) Ad Hoc Study Group on Institute Information. The group was formed by former RIT president Dr. Albert Simone in 1995. The collection includes the final report, as well as a copy of the executive summary and an information system report.
W. W. Charters Institute Self-Study records
Papers from W. W. Charter's consulting project at the Rochester Athenaeum and Mechanics Institute (renamed the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1944). Charters was invited by the Institute in 1928 to help the college reshape itself for the future, with particular emphasis on educational objectives and curriculum development. The collection contains correspondence, meeting minutes, research materials, reports, and clippings.

RIT College Alumni Union collection
Materials related to the construction of the College Alumni Union on the Henrietta campus, as well as its use and activities. The facility was built as part of the Rochester Institute of Technology's new campus in 1968 and is now known as the Student Alumni Union. The collection includes publications such as brochures, correspondence, planning documents, printed policies, concert fliers, and clippings. There is also a dedication ceremony guest book and a scrapbook in the collection.
