The materials were gathered while conducting research for Heart of The Hydrogen Jukebox, a documentary film by Miriam Lerner about ASL poetry.

Collection of three items received from RIT NTID librarian, Joan Naturale. The portable TDD was one used by Naturale, the bookmarks she collected, and the newletters were given to her by her brother, Tony Naturale who was a writer for the newsletter.
Mindy Hopper papers
The Mindy Hopper papers contain educational materials, paper documents, memorabilia and audiovisual materials relating to the Sapphires softball team as well as deaf women’s basketball and softball. Also includes memorabilia from Hooper’s athletic career. The bulk of the materials are from 1987 through 1999.
Edmund Lyon Memorial Lectureship collection
Contains materials related to the Edmund Lyon Memorial Lectureship series, held annually at the National Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology. The collection includes lecture typescripts and professional writings of two speakers: Donald Ballantyne, Ph.D. and Frank Peter Hochman, M.D.

Ahira Webster papers contains a personal diary, photocopy of a portrait of Ahira Webster, a short biography, a copy of an 1899 issue of Deaf-Mutes Journal, and an 1849 annual report and documents of the New-York Institution for the Instruction of the Deaf and Dumb.
