Overview

The materials in this collection are comprised of eight scripts of plays performed by the Lights On! theater group and five VHS videotapes. The items were collected and donated by Patricia Durr an associate professor at NTID.

NTID-related materials collected by Thomas Raco, an administrator at NTID for many years. The materials center around art at NTID, art curriculum, artists who attended NTID, an alums show at Dyer Art Center, articles and videotapes about deaf art and artists. Collection also includes sample artwork by deaf artist Morris Broderson.

Collection consists of one framed color photograph with mat by photographer Stan Zack taken in 2012. Visible photograph dimensions are 11 3/4" x 7 3/4". Dimensions with frame included are 17" x 13". Photograph depicts Robert Panara, NTID's first deaf instructor seated, with eight other NTID performers around him. There are no additional materials in this collection at this time.

The collection of Robert Baker NTID records and photographs contains promotional materials, memorandums, advertisements, and photographs that relate to the NTID Dyer Arts Center and NTID. All materials within this collection were donated to the RIT Archive Collection by Robert Baker, the former director and curator of NTID’s Dyer Arts Center. Materials within this collection range from 1967 to 2007.

The National Technical Institute for the Deaf Alumni Association (NTIDAA) records consist of materials that are related to the administration, activities, and events of the organization. Included are NTIDAA board meeting minutes, reports, and alumni correspondence, as well as promotional materials from events, anniversaries, and reunions of NTIDAA in Rochester and other alumni chapters. Materials within this collection range in date from 1968-2011.

Collection consists of one artwork by BlackDeaf artist Fred Michael Beam, titled Through Deaf Slave's Eyes.

Overview Collection contains two vistaphones and a modem. Vistaphones were video telephones that enabled the deaf to have have telephone conversations using sign language. Vistaphones were manufactured by Stromberg-Carlson, a subsidiary of General Dynamics and a telecommunications equipment and electronics manufacturing company in the United States. Collection includes multimedia such as VHS tapes, DVCAM Tapes, Mini DV Cassette Tapes, DVDs, floppy discs, and Betacam Video Tapes. Topics include ASL interviews, Deaf Artist Interviews, Online Deaf Art Center, and Advocacy Services for Abused Deaf Victims (ASADV), Deaf education, NTID, Gallaudet University, De'VIA, and Deaf literature and poetry performance. Videos date from 1984-2012.

Overview

Collection of three items received from RIT NTID librarian, Joan Naturale. The portable TDD was one used by Naturale, the bookmarks she collected, and the newletters were given to her by her brother, Tony Naturale who was a writer for the newsletter.
