Biographical / Historical
At seven days old, Lauren Aggen received a heart transplant. The medication she was given while waiting for the transplant caused her to lose her hearing. She graduated high school with high honors and attends the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology. At age 13 Aggen began writing a book about her experience, and in 2011, Austin's Gift was published.
