Scope and Contents

The RIT Student Affairs Division records include administrative program review reports, meeting minutes, administrative planning documents, promotional materials, news clippings, photographs, and correspondence. Includes news clippings, correspondence, and promotional materials for the Duff Whele bronze tiger sculpture (1989-1990). Also includes photographs of balloon sculpture events from homecoming during the 1980's. There are administrative program review reports from organizations including, but not limited to: Athletics, the Center for Campus Life, the Counseling Center,Judicial Affairs, Student Health, Higher Education Opportunity Program, and the Center for Student Transition and Support. Also included within these records are copies of the RIT Student Affairs Division’s quarterly publication, Student Matters, from 2004-2006.

Also included is a collection of t-shirts given to students at Student Affairs sponsored events on campus.

Biographical / Historical

The mission of the RIT Student Affairs Division is to engage the campus community by designing and delivering high impact programs and services, thereby enhancing student academic and individual success in order to develop leaders for a diverse and global society. These services are organized by function into various administrative centers under the supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs. A few examples of these centers are the Center for Campus Life, the Academic Support Center, and the Student Health Center.

The Student Affairs Division at the Rochester Institute of Technology is an administrative unit that serves to coordinate the programs, activities, and facilities that support the personal, social, and academic needs of RIT students. The RIT Student Affairs records include a variety of documentation such as program review reports, meeting minutes, publications, correspondence, and promotional materials. There is also a collection of t-shirts from Student Affairs events.
