Scope and Contents

The Rochester Institute of Technology RITiree dinner memorabilia collection consists of three items. These items were given to the attendees of the 2007 RITirees dinner held on June 13, 2007. The recipients of the outstanding alumni award were Albert and Carolie Simone. Dr. Simone was RIT President from 1992-2007. The first item is a blue, ball-point pen with a rotating baseball at the end. Written on the pen isRIT 2007 RITirees, Al & Carolie Simone, 1992-2007. The next item is a Dr. Albert J. Simone baseball card which has a picture of Dr. Simone wearing a Boston Red Sox baseball shirt and cap, with World Series MVP 2004. Written on the back of the card is:

Led Tiger Team to multiple stickball & softball championships 1992-2006

Biographical / Historical

Each year RIT honors retirees by holding a picnic. At each picnic, RITirees honor a faculty and/or staff member who has demonstrated exemplary service. Qualifications and considerations include: meritorious performance in their primary area of expertise; significant activity in community service; contributions to RIT above and beyond the call of duty; and an outstanding record of student-centered service.
