The Linda Siple collection on the portrayal of ASL interpreters contains VHS tapes of television programs and movies featuring a deaf character and an interpreter. Biographical / Historical

Linda Siple has over 30 years of experience as an educator of sign language interpreters. She also has extensive experience as a practicing sign language interpreter. Siple earned her AAS in Human Services at Monroe Community College in 1976, her BSW in Social Work from RIT in 1979, her MS in Instructional Technology from RIT in 1983, and her Ph.D. in Intercultural Communication from SUNY Buffalo in 1995. She specializes in curriculum development in interpreter education, intercultural communication, and practicum & student interpreting.
