 Collection — Multiple Containers
Identifier: RITDSA-0153

Scope and Contents

NTID Communications Services slides is a robust collection of images documenting the early years at the National Technical Institute in the late 1960's when the Institute opened on RITs campus through the early 1980s. These are photographs taken by the college's communications department so it contains a broad range of subjects; student life, building construction, faculty, and academics. Some of slides are complete promotional slideshows for marketing purposes. The majority of these photographs have been taken by long-time staff photographer, Mark Benjamin.

There is documentation of deaf students using telecommunication devices for the deaf in the 1970's, such as TTYs, signalers, and timers.
