Scope and Contents

The Paula Grcevic collection contains materials relating to Deaf culture collected by the donor. Folder 1 contains periodicals from the 1980s and 1990s. During that time there was an exchange program between a Russian institution and NTID, and these materials may have been collected in conjunction to that. The content of this material has not been verified by the archivists, as most of it is in russian.

The second folder contains information about the Dyer Arts Center, and includes digital materials of several art exhibitions and panels which took place in 2006 and 2007.

Folder 3 contains clippings and a statement in response to a scandal about the Gallaudet presidential search in 2006.

Biographical information on Paula Grcevic

Paula Grcevic was born deaf in Ohio, lived in Italy for part of her childhood, then moved to Connecticut and graduated high school. She earned her BFA in Communication Arts and her MFA in Printmaking/Stained Glass from Pratt Institute. She started teaching at NTID in 1979 and was the first NTID professor to win the Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching more than once (1992 and 2006).
