Shannon Bradford papers contains research material used and created for her master's thesis, "Voicing for Sign Language Theatre" and doctoral dissertation, "The Australian Theatre of the Deaf: Essence, Sensibility, Style."

Research materials regarding her thesis on the National Theatre of the Deaf include articles, brochures, programs, slides, photographs, and her thesis manuscript. A larger portion of the collection concerns her dissertation on the Australian Theatre of the Deaf (ATOD). Bradford spent a year researching and touring with ATOD, and her research includes audiocassette and transcripts of interviews, computer files of images and performances, VHS tapes of rehearsals and performances, notes, photographs, articles, brochures, programs, and a multimedia CD-ROM of her dissertation.

Biographical / Historical

Shannon Bradford attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a master's degree in 1996 and a PhD in theatre and dance in 2000. Bradford was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study and tour with the Australian Theatre of the Deaf (ATOD). Her research focuses on deaf, blind, and other mobility-impaired performers.¹
