Biographical / Historical
The Australian Theatre of the Deaf (ATOD) was established in 1979. The Theatre focuses on performing the classics, and performances often include sign language, voice over, mime, and/or hearing actors. ATOD has performed all over the world. In its thirty years, the company has given over 18,000 performances to Australian schoolchildren alone.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Australian Theatre of the Deaf t-shirts were gifted to the Deaf Studies Archive in February 2011 by Aaron Kelstone, faculty member at the National Technical Institute of the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology.
