Scope and Contents

Nancy Rourke works of art contains an original oil painting on canvas Plugin or Unplug, and three reproductions of her original works, L.O.V.E. U.2., and One Handed Alphabet 2, of which there are two copies. In 2019, two large oil paintings were donated by Nancy Rourke. Monologues: Our Stories No. 17 and No. 18.

Biographical Information: Nancy Rourke

Nancy Rourke studied graphic design and painting at the National Technical Institute of the Deaf (NTID) and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY and earned a master's degree in computer graphic design and painting. She has worked as a graphic designer for such companies as Xerox, 20th Century Fox, and Microsoft Corporation.

She began drawing and painting when she was a child as a way of communicating with her parents. Her ultimate goal, aside from expressing herself, is to show appreciation for the Deaf community and to convey her Deafhood journey and experiences.
