Scope and Contents
The Pat Pitkin papers contains correspondence between Pat Pitkin and Congresswoman Louise Slaughter regarding their work on the Rochester Interactive Multimedia Task Force from 1994-1995. The Rochester Project was a collaboration of businesses; not-for-profits and government, to enable new uses of interactive multimedia in the delivery of education, health and human services which benefit the economic development and quality of life in the Finger Lakes Region.
The remainder of the collection contains documentation of the RIT Multimedia Committee including correspondence, drafts of proposals, proposals and other committee work performed during 1994.

Biographical / Historical
Patricia (Pat) Pitkin was the Director of the RIT Library until 2002. She served on the Rochester Interactive Multimedia Task Force which later reconvened as the Rochester Project under Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. The vision of the Rochester Project was to foster the community-based development and deployment of innovative, replicable, scalable, interactive multimedia technology projects from which the diversity of our community can contribute, learn, and benefit. Pat also served on RIT's Strategic Planning Committee for the development of a New Media Center at RIT.
