Historical Information: Graduate Studies program
RIT began awarding associate degrees through its two year programs in 1950. In 1955, the first bachelor of science degrees were awarded. In the spring of 1960, the first three master’s degrees were awarded. Three years later, the Council on Graduate Studies was established. RIT’s graduate studies programs emerged so rapidly that by 1967, sixty-eight graduate degrees had been awarded.

Overview
The first Graduate Studies program at the Rochester Institute of Technology was established in the late 1950's under President Mark Ellingson, with many more programs emerging rapidly after. This collection contains clippings and various records pertaining to graduate studies at RIT.
