Historical Information: Institute Calendar Task Force

The quarters versus semesters debate has surfaced perennially throughout RIT’s history. RIT formed the Institute Task Force on the Calendar in the fall of 1990 in response to concerns and questions from administrators and faculty. The Task Force formed a Calendar Review Committee, as well as subcommittees to investigate the calendar matter: the Academic Impacts Subcommittee, the Operational Impacts Subcommittee, and the Enrollment/Placement Impacts Subcommittee. The Task Force presented their findings to the Policy Council to create a formal recommendation to Provost Plough and President M. Richard Rose.
