Audio Visual Services is contained within a single folder which includes relevant documents such as proposals requesting additional space, a list of recommended A-V equipment, information for the faculty such as who to contact and how to use the equipment, a newsletter, and papers that provide a list of preview showings – previews of videos and other type of media Audio Visual Services have in their collection.

Biographical / Historical

Rochester Institute of Technology has been providing audio-visual services for its faculty and students for educational purposes since the 1930’s. In the 1960’s and 1970’s, the department provided 16mm projectors, 35mm projectors, a lantern slide projector, opaque projectors, tape recorders, record players, filmstrip projectors, and projection screens. The department also provided support to the faculty on the usage of the equipment.

Today, RIT continues to provide audio-visual services with new technology including captioning services for audio-visual media, especially for deaf and hard of hearing students.
