This collection was donated by Jeff Mason. His mother, Llenis Hillman Mason was a 1940 graduate of Mechanics Institute(MI). His grandmother, Laura Church Hillman graduated in 1907. Llenis was a food administration graduate from Chaffee, NY. She was involved in glee club, Sigma Kappa Delta sorority, bowling, riding, golf and tennis.

The collection consists of photographs taken of Llenis and friends while at MI, a scrapbook of MI memorabilia created by Llenis, a Rochester Athenaeum & Mechanics Institute (RAMI) pin, two Techmila yearbooks, and several Food Administration alumni booklets.

Biographical / Historical

Llenis Jean Hillman was fromChaffee, N.Y. and she attendedRochester Athenaeum and Mechanics Institute(RAMI) from 1938-1940. Ms. Hillman was in the Food Administration department. While attending RAMI, she was involved in glee club, Sigma Kappa Delta sorority, bowling, horse riding, golf and tennis. Llenis took many photographs with her friends while at RAMI. She also kept a scrapbook of memorabilia collected during those years. Llenis remained active with the Food Administration department alumni.

Llenis marriedHarvey L. Mason, they had two sons Jeffrey and Barry, and lived in Arcade, N.Y. It wasJeffrey Mason who donated the collection to the RIT Archive Collections. His grandmother,Laura Church Hillman, Llenis's mother also graduated from RAMI in 1907.
