Biographical / Historical
The Hale-Andrews Student Life Center at RIT became a reality when it opened January 6, 1992. The concept behind the facility was unusual at the time in that it housed five diverse campus departments under one roof - the Physical Education Department, Student Health Services, the Counseling Center, Substance and Alcohol Intervention Services for the Deaf and NTID Psychological Services team. Architects for the project was Macon/Chaintreuil Associates who worked with RIT to develop the most cost effective, energy conscious facility possible at the time. Greg Moss was project manager at the time the Student Life Center was developed and built, and also served as advisor to the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams.

Overview
Collection of materials deposited by Greg Moss, Director of Department of Athletics and Recreation at RIT that document the development and construction of the first student life center and field house on campus through photographs, records, some blueprints and a specification manual. Also included are newsclippings documenting the 2009 men's and women's ice hockey season, and a tiger mascot costume affectionately named "Grandpa Ritchie," and the recreational "bubble."
