Subseries D: Metaproject 04 - Invitation Chair, 2013-2015
Scope and Content Note
In this subseries are materials documenting the design process for Alexander Bennett’s winning Metaproject 04 submission, Invitation Chair. This piece of furniture allows its user to create a temporary shared space for collaboration with another person. Bennett’s design materials include planning notes, cardboard models (1/4 scale), 3-D printed models (1/4 scale), two full-scale prototypes, and one final production model from Herman Miller.

Historical Note
Metaproject 04 challenged student designers to test how furnishings and space in a workplace enable interactions. Furniture manufacturer Herman Miller partnered with RIT for this project, resulting in an exhibit at Design Week in New York City in May 2014.
