Portraits

Ahira Webster papers contains a personal diary, photocopy of a portrait of Ahira Webster, a short biography, a copy of an 1899 issue of Deaf-Mutes Journal, and an 1849 annual report and documents of the New-York Institution for the Instruction of the Deaf and Dumb.

James E. Booth was a trustee of the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) during the 1890s. His son, Irving, was one of the university's largest benefactors during the mid-20th century. The collection mostly includes photographs of various members of the Booth family. There are also several pieces of correspondence and a publication on the Monroe County Savings Bank.

Photographs taken by Charles A. Savage, a former professor of photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Savage taught at the Institute from 1937-1966. The collection includes 23 prints as well as a few pieces of biographical information.

Collection of correspondence, printed signatures, ephemera, and original drawings realted to The Colophon. The Colphon: a Book Collector's Quarterly, was published in New York between 1930 and 1950.

Seven photographs by Ira Current. Photographs are modern prints from 2002 made with original negatives dated 1929-1992.

The John Retallack Colleagues portraits consist of fifteen black-and-white portraits of RIT faculty. The portraits are 13 x 11 inches and each is matted. Also included is a 32 x 24 inch poster printed with 6 of the portraits used in the book, Colleagues.

Photographs taken by Leslie D. Stroebel, a former professor of photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The collection includes 19 portrait prints.

The portrait of William Destler was painted by Pranesh Das Purandaradoss, an MBA student at the Saunders College of Business. Destler was RIT's ninth president serving from 2007-2017. This is likely an oil painting, and has been selected by Destler as his official portrait.

Set of printing blocks, each with a portrait of a faculty member, administrator, or benefactor, most likely used in the Rochester Athenaeum and Mechanics Institute yearbook, the Ramikin.

RIT Sports Information photographs includes prints, microfiche, negatives, and digital images documenting men and women athletes and RIT sports teams from the 1930's to 2013.
