Lili Cassel-Wronker stamp collection
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of American and international postage stamps with images of printing presses, printers, scribes, libraries, calligraphy, or books included in their design, and a small selection of reference books and newsletters on the topic. Box 1 contains first-day covers and a few pieces of currency with graphic arts images. Boxes 2-3 contain postage stamp albums. Box 4 contains reference material related to the collection.

Biographical / Historical
The calligrapher Lili Cassel-Wronker was born in Germany on May 5, 1924, and moved to New York City in May 1940. She attended Washington Irving High School, then worked as a freelance graphic designer and taught calligraphy at schools in and around New York. In 1943 she married Erich Wronker (1921-1997), a New York printer.
