Biographical / Historical

In 2023, the RIT Cary Graphic Arts Collection has commissioned Rochester based Virgin Wood Type to produce their first new-old Hebrew/Yiddish wood typefaces, based on historical original patterns they have in their collection. The end-grain maple was cut into type for letterpress printing on a pantograph router, originally created by the American Wood Type Manufacturing Company.
