Scope and Contents
Kevin Nolan photographs and papers is comprised of 37 photographs of NTID productions from 1970-2008, programs from the shows, scripts, and newspaper clippings about the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), and the NTID Drama Club. The photographs depict performances of "The Marriage Proposal," (1970), "Laurel and Hardy," "Up In Central Park" (1971), "The Claw" (1971), "Taming of the Shrew " (1974), "The Wall" (1975), "Macbeth" (1987), "Peter Pan" (2002), and "Raisin in the Sun" (2008).
The collection also includes programs from, "The Marriage Proposal," "The Silent Stage," "The Pardoner's Tale," "Footlight Frolic," "Spoon River," and "The Tell-Tale Heart," as well as scripts from "The Marriage Proposal" and "The Claw."

Biographical / Historical
Kevin Nolan is a 1971 NTID/RIT graduate of College of Business. Nolan was one of only 70 students in the NTID inaugural class of 1968. Alongside Robert Panera, Nolan and two other students helped form the NTID Drama Club. Starring in many productions such as “The Marriage Proposal”, “Laurel and Hardy,” and “Up In Central Park,” Nolan is best known for his performance in “The Claw” in 1971. That same year, Nolan won the Outstanding Service Award at the First Annual Golden Award Night. In 1977, Kevin Nolan won the Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2009, Nolan returned to the NTID stage to perform in Equus.
Kevin made history by becoming the first born-deaf person elected to public office in the U.S., a city council seat in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1986-87 against a 20-year incumbent.
