Scope and Contents

The NTID Student Life collection contains more than 250 videotapes which appear to be of student events held at NTID between 1980-2015. Other materials included are t-shirts, plaques, photographs, and an album that documents student activities during this time period.

239 additional videotapes were added to the collection in 2019. Collection is now 17 cartons.

Historical Information: NTID Student Congress

NTID Student Life team supports the NTID student community including the NTID Student Congress, clubs and other extra-curricular activities. NTID Student Congress functions are:

To represent the interests and concerns of all its members before the Rochester Institute of Technology Student Government.

To create awareness of the issues among all members of the community.

To provide a platform for expression for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing majority and minority communities of the Rochester Institute of Technology.

To encourage union, interaction, and understanding among all NTID and cross-registered students who converge at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

To provide leadership and facilitate communication, cooperation, networking, and mutual support among its affiliates.

To advocate and encourage NTID and cross-registered students personal growth and advancement of NTID and cross-registered students within RIT as a whole and individually.
