Hlibok wrote WomanTalk in 1984. This script is the revised version, dated 1987. A black comedy, the play consists of two characters, Sandra and Molly, with all of the action taking place in Sandra's kitchen.

Biographical / Historical

Bruce Hlibok was born July 31, 1960 and grew up in Jamaica, Queens. He earned a bachelor’s degree in play writing in 1985 from New York University. Hlibok wrote 12 plays, but it was his work as an actor that earned him the most acclaim, including his performances in Elizabeth Swados’ Runaways, as John Singer in The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, and in his one-man show, The Deaf-Mute Howls. In 1981, he wrote Silent Dancer, a book about his sister, who like Hlibok, is also deaf, and her experience studying ballet at the Joffrey Ballet School.

Hlibok died of AIDS on June 23, 1995.
