Biographical / Historical

David Page is the retired Fine Arts Photographer for Duke University (now deceased). He studied under Charles Arnold, Minor White and Richard Zakia while a photography student at the Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned his degree in 1966. Adjunct instructors at RIT included Ansel Adams, Gordon Parks, Pete Turner and Yousof Karsh. His photographs have been exhibited nationally as well as overseas, and have appeared in many magazines including Sports Illustrated.

His ENO River Association calendars won four PICA (Printing Industry of the Carolinas) awards. His photographs and illustrations have also been featured in several books, including the popular Perception and Imaging - 3rd. ed. by Dr. Zakia, which is in its second printing.

Dave Page was also known at RIT for his involvement with SpiRIT the bengal tiger cub mascot. He was a member of the tiger committee and was a student handler for the cub which allowed him to bring the tiger to the RIT campus during the years 1963-64.

David Page remained an ardent supporter of RIT throughout his life, serving as a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, leader of the RIT Raleigh/Durham Alumni Chapter and supporter of the RIT Big Shot.
