Scope and Contents

This ceramic pot was created by Val Cushing, a master potter and ceramic artist. The circular vessel has a lid with a handle, and is entirely glazed in a reddish-brown speckled glaze. The piece is signed on the bottom by the artist.

Biographical / Historical

Val Cushing was born in Rochester, New York on January 28th, 1931. He received his BFA in 1952 from theSchool of Art & Design in the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
