3D printed prosthetic hand - prototype
Scope and Contents
This 3D printed prosthetic hand prototype was created at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) by research scientist Jon Schull. Schull was able to initiate the formation of a group called e-NABLE, described on their website in this way: "The e-NABLE Community is an amazing group of individuals from all over the world who are using their 3D printers to create free 3D printed hands and arms for those in need of an upper limb assistive device." (from http://enablingthefuture.org/about/, retreived 8/14/2017)
This hand bears similiarities to the prosthesis created for Lucas LeMay, and also resembles several of the earlier e-NABLE models. This prototype may have been gifted to RIT president William Destler at some point, as it was transferred to Archives from his office upon his retirement.
