William Destler photograph collection

 Collection — Box: 1, Folder: 1-5
Identifier: RITArc-0679

Scope and Contents

The images in the William Destler photograph collection span twelve years, beginning before Destler was president of RIT. Early photographs were taken on trips Destler took overseas in 2001. Images taken during Destler's time at RIT are a mix of candid snapshots at public events, portraits, and prints given as gifts to President Destler. Among the gifts or mementos are photographs of Destler with former U.S. President Bill Clinton (signed), Destler with with former New York Senator and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton (signed), a group of RIT students and their Baja SAE vehicles, and a photo collage from Donald R. Pettit (signed). The portraits of Destler were taken by students, and one includes a note of thanks to Destler for participating in their project.

Also included in this collection are two diary books from 1992 and 1994. These books include early photographs of Destler as well as notes from colleagues at the time of various job changes.
