Scope and Contents

This collection of videotapes contains news broadcasts of events and stories covered during the 1970s through the 2000's. There are approximately 60 tapes in multiple formats - VHS, Beta, large format videocassette. Most are segments shown on local television shows in the Rochester, NY area about RIT. Some subjects covered are capital campaign, Coast to Coast runners, speakers and government officials visits to RIT, Barbara Bush visit in 1984, Jimmy Carter visit in 1991, Empire State Games, dedications and the Heidelberg Press acquisition.

Biographical / Historical

RIT news and events have been highlighted on local and national news. The local media stations used the betamax format for broadcasting and internally, the RIT media department recorded events and activities on videotape during this time period.
