The Gregory Heisler Reedy Memorial Lecture digital audio recording covers Gregory Heisler's talk on April 9, 1987. Heisler discusses his time at RIT, his work since graduating including a slide show of some of his work with famous and non-famous subjects.

Gregory Heisler is a professional photographer known for his evocative portrait work often found on the cover of magazines, such as Time, for which he has produced a number of Man, Person, and People of the Year covers.

Original cassette recordings were digitized on 7/6/2014.

Biographical / Historical

Photographer and editor William A. Reedy was best known for creating the quarterly Eastman Kodak publication Applied Photography. Reedy died in December, 1975. In honor of his pursuit of excellence in photography, RIT and Kodak's Professional and Finishing Markets Division established the lecture series. The first was held in November 1976 and featured Rudy Miller. The lecture was often carried out twice a year, one in spring and one in fall. Other speakers included Vince Lisanti (1977), Martin Goldsholl (1978), Saul Bass (1979), and Annie Leibowitz (1991).
