Biographical / Historical
The B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing & Information Sciences (GCCIS) opened 2003, and is housed in a 125,000 square foot facility on campus at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The college is divided into six departments: Computer Science, Computing Security, Information Sciences & Technologies, School of Interactive Games & Media, Software Engineering, and the Ph.D. department. The college claims internationally-recognized faculty and hands-on educational instruction. Cooperative education (co-ops) are a major part of the curriculum, and students work at tech firms, taking part in the development of groundbreaking products such as Kinect for Xbox 360 and Square.
