RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering (KGCOE) is among the nations's top-ranked engineering colleges. the college offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in applied statistics, engineering science, and computer, electrical, industrial and systems, mechanical, and microelectronic engineering and a doctoral degree in microsystems engineering. RIT was the first university to offer undergraduate degrees in microelectronic and software engineering.
In 2005, on the occasion of RIT's 175th anniversary, the KGCOE decided to honor some of their distinguished alumni by creating a Wall of Fame of twenty-four alumni. The induction took place on March 18, 2005 in the Gordon Atrium in the James E. Gleason Building where the wall is located. Among those inducted was John Hill, a 1930 graduate of the Rochester Athenaeum and Mechanics Institute and at that time RIT's oldest living alumni at age 95.

Crawford, Richard L. Dashnaw, Robert O. Frasca, Dr. Lynn F. fuller, E. Lee Garelick, Alfred N. Gutzmer, William C. Hard, Gilbert J. Hatch, Frank S. Hermance, John L. Hill. David K. Laniak, Donald C. Switzer, Frederick T. Tucker, Leon D. White, Jr. David A. Willett, James N. Wurtz.
