Scope and Contents

Records documenting the intercollegiate athletic teams at RIT, many from their inception through about 2010 when most records have been retained digitally. Team schedules, game programs, player spotlights, media guides, trophies and news clippings all follow the development of sports at RIT. Other areas documented are the RIT Wrestling and Coach School from 1963-1987; Matt Hamill, RIT/NTID deaf wrestler turned Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter; the Letterman's Club and an entire run of RIT Sports Hall of Fame programs from 1969 to the present which indicate RIT athletes inducted each year.

Collection includes records from all men's and women's athletic teams at RIT, some beginning in the 1950s to the present. Record series include news clippings, game programs, schedules, and fact books. There are 14 boxes with more being added as transferred.


Records are arranged by sport, then by date.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

RIT Sports Information records have been deposited in the RIT Archives over a period of many years.


Although accurals have been received on an annual basis; most records are now in digital format so the amount of paper records received will diminish rapidly.
