Scope and Contents

RIT Archives Bands On the Bricks exhibition materials contains photographic prints, captions, copies of news articles and administrative documents from the exhibit, held in the RIT Museum from May 2013 through October 2013.

The prints are images of some of the 90 bands and musicians from over six decades featured in the exhibit. Most of them came from the RIT Photograph collections, some were loaned from RIT's ETC Photography Department. The news articles came from RIT's Reporter magazine and News & Events which were promotions and reviews of concerts, and biographical information about the performers. The Archives has an extensive poster collection representing events held at RIT. Many of these posters, designed by students, promoted concerts sponsored by the College Activities Board.

Bands on the Bricks

The RIT Archives is responsible for exhibiting materials from their collections in the RIT Museum space located on the third floor of the Wallace Center at RIT. Bands on the Bricks was the brainstorm of Associate Archivist, Jody Sidlauskas who envisioned a visual timeline documenting music groups who have performed at RIT for students for over six decades.
