Biographical / Historical
The College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) at RIT has a long-standing reputation of excellence and innovation. Established in 1972, it is one of the Institute’s largest colleges enrolling approximately one-fifth of all the students at RIT. The college offers a myriad of dynamic programs—ranging from hospitality, nutrition and service management, health systems administration, human resource development, packaging science, environmental management and safety, engineering technology, and the Army and Air Force ROTC. This interdisciplinary approach to career-focused education and experiential learning, coupled with international study opportunities, provides students the very best in academic resources and programming.
The RIT Archives staff assisted CAST with researching the 40 years of history to develop a timeline of events and people associated with the College. They also digitized a large number of photographs to display in a slideshow and on their timeline.
