The Quality Cup Award records contains newspaper articles, documents and videotapes that document the history and winners of the award. The videotapes are from the April 8, 1994 ceremony. Newspaper articles cover all winners from 1992-2001 and the 14 folders contain correspondence, web page planning records and lists of judges.

Biographical / Historical

The Quality Cup was an annual event sponsored by RIT & USA Today. The competition was developed by Richard Rosett, former RIT College of Business dean. The award honored employees who found ways to improve the quality of products and services provided. Winners are responsible for cutting costs, solving problems and increasing efficiency at their companies. Entries were reviewed by officials from RIT's College of Business, USA Today, and an independent panel of experts. Team awards were presented in six categories: education, government,and health care, manufacturing industry, service industry, and small businesses.

The Quality Cup itself—a solid silver goblet suspended atop a marble column—was designed and crafted by Leonard Urso, a sculptor, silversmith and professor in the School of American Craft.

2001 was the final year of the award.
