Biographical / Historical
The Institute Committee on Projects Relating to Productivity was a committee of RIT faculty who reviewed proposed projects and recommended that grants be distributed. In order to apply for a productivity grant you had to be a full time faculty member. All projects proposed had to meet two tests: they had to specifically address the matter of maintaining or improving educational quality, and had to result in specific cost reductions. There were three levels of funding that faculty could apply for. As the levels got higher, the amount of funding increased. A level 1 grant application would fund $500, when a level 3 funded $5000 and required more detail in the application process. Barbara Hodik, from the College of Fine & Applied Arts, was the Chairperson of the Committee.
