Historical Information
The Rochester Institute of Technology photo cage is located on the third floor of the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences in the Booth building. The photo cage loans all kinds of photographic equipment to students. At no cost, students can borrow cameras and lighting equipment, for limited periods of time to work on projects. This service enables students to work with high end photographic equipment that is too cost prohibitive to purchase on their own.
The cage has been operational since the campus was first built in 1968. Student employees are given shirts to wear while working. There are six samples of these t-shirts in this collection. They appear to be from the 1970's to the early 1980's.
