RIT Public Safety collection
Scope and Contents
The RIT Campus Safety collection mainly consists of fliers, brochures, and other promotional materials related to campus safety education and policies. Also included are clippings, memoranda, and annual campus safety reports. Although most of the collection focuses on the Henrietta campus, a small amount of material covers the former campus in downtown Rochester.

Biographical / Historical
The Department of Public Safety is charged with promoting a safe community for the more than 3,000 faculty and staff and 16,000 students on the RIT campus. Public safety officers patrol all campus roadways, parking lots, and buildings, and provide an annual safety and security report regarding the campus. According to the department mission statement, "Our ultimate goal is to deliver professional services and initiative that provide a safe and pleasant community sensitive to the uniqueness of individuals and groups engaged in the learning process."
