RIT Outstanding Alumni Award collection
Scope and Contents
The RIT Outstanding Alumni Award collection contains award programs, correspondence, citation text, clippings, Alumni Association awards and citations committee minutes, presentation speeches, honoree biographies, and finalists. Also included are inscriptions for honorees; honorees receive an inscribed silver bowl designed by Hans Christensen.

Biographical / Historical
The RIT Outstanding Alumni Award was established by the Office of the President in 1952 with the first awards that year presented to Elsie Caring Bowman (1906) and Raymond E. Olson (1916). It is the highest honor the Institute can bestow upon an RIT alum. The award is conferred by the Alumni Association and given each year in recognition of work to advance the Institute.
