Biographical / Historical
The Latin American Student Association (LASA) started at RIT in 1985. The LASA constitution states, "The Purpose of LASA is to provide opportunities for members to learn, embrace, and share their Latin heritage with an emphasis on the Latin community; while at the same time creating and supporting cultural awareness in a social and familial atmosphere within the Rochester Institute of Technology community."
Membership os open to undergraduates, graduate students, post-graduates, faculty and staff, and night students. LASA has weekly meetings and co-sponsors events with affiliated organizations, and is still active today.
