Scope and Contents

The RIT Judicial System records contain multiple copies of the 1972 revised RIT Judicial processes. This document contains a summary written by Stanley D. McKenzie, Judicial Coordinator in April 1973, about the steps taken to develop a model calling for sweeping changes in the current judicial practices. Additionally, there is a memo from RIT President Paul A. Miller announcing the implementation of the proposed studnet judicial system in May 1973.

Twenty-five reports issued by the Judicial Coordinator on judicial cases are included covering 1974-1988. Stanley McKenzie served as the Coordinator during this entire time. These reports were generally issued two times per year and listed every case handled through administrative or judicial processes during that time period. The reports were sent to Dr. Fred Smith, the Vice President for Student Affairs.

There is also a memo dated February 21, 1978 indicating a Discipline Policies Committee had been formed to conduct the first major review of the RIT Judicial Processes in four years for the purpose of recommending necessary changes or modifications in existing policies.
