MaryAnn Begland
MaryAnn Begland (1940-2022) was an Emeritus Professor in the College of Art and Design from 1982-2004. Begland was an Assistant Professor at Kent State University (1967-1968), Part Time Art & Design Faculty member at Texas Tech University (1968-1970), an instructor at Kentucky State University (1976-1977), and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Kent State University (1980-1982) before joining the faculty at the Rochester Institute of Technology. MaryAnn attended Duke University, studied painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, received a BS in Art Education at the Ohio State University, an MFA in Graphic Design and a MA in Painting from Kent State University. Begland was a member of Delta Phi Delta national honorary art sorority as well as Phi Lambda Theta national women’s educational honorary society. She married George Lee Sacco and had two sons, Nathan and Tyson.
