The Instructional Media Service collection consists of invitations, brochures, and clippings. The invitations are to various events including film screenings, holiday celebrations, and retirement parties. The brochures in the collection feature information on the department and its services. There is also a job description for a media research associate position.

Biographical / Historical

The Instructional Media Services department at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) was created as an instructional technology resource for the RIT community. The department provided access to films, planned film festivals, and managed a Media Resource Center that was equipped with various types of audio-visual equipment. Additionally, the department offered photographic services such as producing copy slides of books and magazines; graphic services such as designing charts for presentations; and audio services including tape duplication and studio recording.

Prior to the Media Services department being established, a similar function was filled by RIT's Division of Instructional Research and Development, Media Design Center, and Media Production Center. As of 2011, these services were provided by RIT's ETC Production Services department.
