RIT's "Grow A College Subreddit" competition records
Scope and Contents
Collection is 21 paper copies of conversations from RIT's sub reddit forum on Reddit. The threads document how RIT students enter a contest on Reddit called "Grow A College Subreddit" beginning with a post from August 3, 2011. The goal was to see which college across the country had the most active subreddit during a specified time period. The results of the competition are included in the documents. 463 college subreddits were tracked from August 20th to October 26th, 2011. RIT came out on top for absolute growth, top relative growth, and admin's choice. Subsequent threads are about receiving and distributing prizes for winning. Paper copies of RIT reddit discussions related to increasing RIT's user base in reddit during a competition sponsored by the company in 2011. Also includes a copy of the RITeddit tiger sticker.
