RIT Retailing Department records
Scope and Contents
Collection contains promotional brochures for the Retailing program at Rochester Athenaeum and Mechanics Institute prior to 1944, and after 1944 at Rochester Institute of Technology. The program was run by RIT's first female Dean, Edwina Hogadone. The remainder of the collection consists of newsclippings, primarily from the local newspaper Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, which document the activities, events and students of the Retailing program from about 1940 through the 1980s.
Of note is a chart documenting the number of Retailing graduates from 1927-1978.
