Scope and Contents

The RIT Art Students' Art Society records contain documents related to the organization and its activities. The first portion of the collection consists of correspondence. These letters are from the Rochester Institute of Technology's (RIT) Student Council and Student Association regarding the Art Society's standing on-campus. The first letter addresses the need for the society to submit a constitution, while the next two letters relate to the society's temporary suspension for violation of Student Council policies.

The collection also contains several governance documents from the organization. In addition to a list of officers for the 1963-1964 school year, the collection includes a copy of the club's constitution (circa 1944-1959) and a revised copy from 1966. There is a short history of the organization and a list of officers accompanying the revised copy.
