Biography
Louis Alexander Jr. served as RIT's first full-time athletics director from 1959-1977. Besides being the director, Alexander coached basketball and baseball as well as working in Alumni Relation for the Athletics Department. Through his efforts, thirteen men's and women's sports attained varsity status. He helped start the RIT Sports Hall of Fame, and was inducted himself in 1978. Alexander retired from RIT in 1993 after a 38 year career, and he passed away at the age of 77 on November 28, 2006.
